Chemical Incident

A chemical incident occurs with the accidental or intentional release of hazardous chemicals. Chemicals may be hazardous to humans, pets, livestock, and/or the environment.

Radiation Incident

A nuclear power plant accident could result in the release of dangerous levels of radiation affecting the health and safety of people living nearby. A release of radioactive material can be accidental or intentional.

Biological Incident

A biological incident occurs with an accidental or intentional (bioterrorism) release of a biological agent. These agents may be relatively harmless or may cause serious illness and/or death. Biological agents can affect humans, pets, livestock, and/or the environment.

Explosions

Explosions can be accidental or intentional. Depending on the location and contents of the exploded object, hazardous chemicals, radiation, or biological agents may be released into the surrounding area, which may be hazardous to humans, pets, livestock, and/or the environment.
